Version 8.7 has been released!

Posted on March 21, 2009

Version 8.7 has finally arrived.

You can download this update by going to the help menu inside RentMaster and choose Download RentMaster Update.  If you have any problems downloading the update automatically, you can also download it manually from www.RentMaster.co.nz/Update.aspx

What new?

  • The owner mail merge letters now allow pictures to be inserted.
  • When adding pictures to properties or tenants, the system now remembers which folder the last picture was located in and returns to that same folder by default when you go to add another picture.
  • The extra charges list screen now shows one row per transaction instead of one row per tenant.  This only affects extra charges with multiple tenants.
  • The Rent Status screen now automatically updates itself as new transactions are entered.  There is also a refresh button for manual refreshing.
  • A few small changes have been made to make the TradeMe integration a bit simpler.
  • The tenant history report was printing the report wrong values when the tenancy end date was not set to a specific date.
  • The inspection schedule report was printing the date and time over top of the tenants name.  This is fixed.
  • On the events screen, inspections to closed tenants are no longer shown.

Other changes

  • You can no longer change a property code if the property is loaded onto a web site from the marketing module.
  • A new menu option called 'Delete Sample Data' has been created to remove the sample data for new customers.
  • The sort of the extra charges list screen was not correct.
  • If the tenant combo box is disabled on the income screen, the tenant code is not saved even if one exists.
  • The Marketing Upload screen now has a link to a web page which shows other available web sites which can be uploaded to.

Coming in 8.7 - Logos in Owner Mail Merge

Posted on March 17, 2009

The mail merge for tenant letters has always allowed you to add pictures for logos.  However the owner letters did not.

So this feature has been added.  You can also now add objects and spreadsheets, just like you can with the tenant letters.

TradeMe.co.nz Upload Update

Posted on March 11, 2009

Since its first release, there have been a few changes to the TradeMe.co.nz upload facility.

- The furnishings field has been added.

- Another field has been added to allow you to override the Agency Reference which is shown on the TradeMe web site.  Sometimes you dont want to show the property address on TradeMe, but often the property code is the same as the property address.  So the ability to over-ride the code with something else will allow you to hide your internal agency reference code.

Coming in 8.7 - Deleting sample data

Posted on March 11, 2009

This change wont have much effect on existing software users, but is designed more for new users.

When the software is first installed, it comes with sample data so you can see how it gets used.  Some people are not sure how to remove the sample data.  So now it is made easier.  A new menu option has been added called 'Delete Sample Data'.  Also when someone enters a license key, it automatically prompts to see if they want to remove the sample data in the database.  This only applies if the sample data has not been already deleted.
