Coming in v10.6 – One Time Automatic Transactions

Automatic transactions includes automatic income, automatic expenses, automatic extra charges and automatic extra fees.

Automatic transactions are normally applied at regular intervals such as once every 2 weeks.

In the coming version 10.6 of RentMaster, you will be able to apply them only once, and then have them automatically delete themselves.  This is particularly useful for automatic extra charges or automatic extra fees, where you know you will want to charge a specific value on a certain date in future, but you dont want to load it yet.  You can pre-load these charges for a future date, and have it created on that date, and never applied again.

Also on automatic transactions, the automatic transaction apply screen is now sizable, so you can make the window wider to see all columns.  Also the automatic transaction list screens now all contain the Next Apply date.

Coming in v10.5 – Date Add Calculator

Working with dates is something landlords and property managers do a lot.

For example, you want to increase the rent 60 day from the coming Monday.  Working out what date that is can be quite time consuming, and normally ends up with you and a calendar, counting the days.

So a new Date Add calculator is being created.  You enter in the start date, and then choose to either add or subtract a specifyed number of days, weeks or months, and RentMaster will calculate the end date for you.

Coming in v10.5 – List filtering

A lot of screens which have lists on them, like the tenant list screen or the owner list screen or the extra charge list screen etc have all got a new search box which you can use for filtering.

You can type anything into the search box, and the list will be filtered for any row which contains the thing you typed in any of the columns.  So you could be on the tenant list screen and type part or all of the property code, because the property code is shown on the tenant list screen.  Of you could type part of the tenants first or last names.

This is going to be very helpful for people with long lists such as a lot of tenants or many extra charges.  This is very simple, but I think also for some people very powerful.
