Coming in v10.2 - Sort custom fields

Posted on December 18, 2011

Custom fields allows you to add extra information to a tenant, property, owner or contractor.  This comes in the form or a list of additional fields added to the respective details screens.

In the coming version 10.2 of RentMaster, you will be able to sort these fields, so the most important ones can come to the top.

Coming in v10.2 - Owner transaction summary and long tenant names

Posted on December 18, 2011

The owner transaction summary report prints the tenants name and payment details at the top of the report.  If tenants are created with very long names, the payment details or part of the name may get truncated.

In version 10.2, the name and payment details will wrap into the following line if required.

Available now - Online rent payments

Posted on December 17, 2011

Online rent payments allows tenants to pay their rent using a credit card online.  More and more tenants are asking for this option as a fast and convenient way of paying their rent.  Which is also good for the property manager or landlord.

This is available now to all RentRecall.com web site subscribers.

The payment processing will all be handled by paypal.com.  At no point do you get to see the tenant's credit card details.  After the payment is made, an email will be sent to you with the details of the payment.  The tenant gets to see their current balance due, and can choose how much to pay, prior to the transaction taking place.

To enable this feature, which is disabled by default, you need to log into the managers login at rentrecall.com, and choose the Setup option in the top right corner.  You need to have already set up a paypal.com account to receive payments.  Enter you paypal.com account email address.  You can also optionally choose to charge the tenant a credit card fee, which can be a percentage of the amount paid, or a fixed amount, or both.  Paypal.com will charge you a fee for their service, so this enabled you to cover some or all of those costs.

Coming in v10.2 - Print long attributes on inspection checklist

Posted on December 17, 2011

In version 10.2, the inspection checklist report will allow much longer attribute names to be printed.  Currently when they are printed if they are long they will overwrite the condition values.  Now it will wrap it onto the next line down.

Coming in v10.2 - Hide completed imported transactions

Posted on December 4, 2011

RentMaster has the ability to import your bank statement.  Bank statements can sometimes contain a very large number of transactions, especially if you dont import it very often.

In the coming version 10.2, you will have the ability to hide transactions on the import screen which are complete and do not require any further attention.  This will filter the list down to just those ones which need fixing prior to importing.  You will also have the option to show all, which will unhide them again.

Coming in v10.2 - Various small changes

Posted on December 3, 2011

A range of small changes are coming to the next release

- When importing bank statements, the rules screen is now fully sizable so the grid at the bottom of the rules screen can be made bigger.

- The Automatic Extra Fees and Automatic Extra Charges list screens both now include the descrption.

- On the Future Rent Changes report, any tenant who is closed is excluded automatically.

- When editing a transaction in the cashbook, the first control to have focus has been changes to the amount field.  This is to avoid people inadvertently opening the screen and then using the scroll wheel on their mouse and changing the property.  This does not affect new transactions.

- On the owner list report, if the data is too long to fit in the field, then instead of overlapping other information, it will be truncated.
