Coming in v10.8 - Reprint Receipts

On the income entry screen you can specify that you want to print a receipt at the time of creating the transaction.

In the coming version, you will also be able to print the receipt after the transaction is complete.  On the income entry screen the Print Receipt checkbox will be replaced with a Reprint Receipt button.

Note that on a reprint, the 'Current Balance', 'Paid To Date', and 'Previous Paid To Date' fields will all print as blank.  So if you use any of those fields on your receipt, you should always try to print them the first time instead of going back to a reprint.  The reason is because we do not record those values at the time of the original transaction, so there is no way of accurately reprinting it maybe 6 months later.

Coming in v10.8 - Watercare Bills

This only applies to people who receive bills from Watercare in New Zealand.  This feature can be turned on and off from the maintenance menu by choosing Options/Features.

The new watercare bills menu option opens up a small window which is designed to quickly create extra charges against tenants.

The window is designed to be used with a barcode scanner.  You can scan the barcode on the water bill, and this will extract the watercare account number.  You then associate that with a property, and also get to select the tenant.  The scanned barcode also contains the total bill amount.  All you then need to do is enter the fixed charge amount (the amount not charged to the tenant) and the variable amount is then created as an extra charge.  When you scan another bill from the same address, the property will already be seleted for you because RentMaster will remember the account number/property association from the last time.

Coming in v10.8 - Bulk Extra Charges

You have had the ability to create extra charges for quite a while.

In v10.8 there will be the ability to create bulk extra charges.  This means you can specify a date and description, and then enter the amount to charge each tenant.

This is useful if you have a large number of similar extra charges to create for a lot of tenants.

Coming in v10.8 - Future Date in Mail Merge

A new feature has been added to the mail merge facility.

You can now get the system to generate a printed date a specified number of days or weeks or months in the future.  For example you might want to print a letter with a date as the print date plus 14 days.  This can now be easily done in v10.8.

Coming in v10.8 - Arrears Filter

In the Rent Arrears screen, there is now a filter so you can filter by default inspector.

The default inspector is set on the tenant details screen.  If you use this feature, you can now also only show the arrears for tenants for a specific inspector.  This is useful if you have multiple property managers, and they each have responsibilities for different tenants.
