Coming in v10.3 - Add Bulk Attachments

by RentMaster 12. February 2012 05:08

Currently attachment files are added to RentMaster one at a time.

With version 10.3 of RentMaster, you will be able to select multiple files from any location, and attach them all at once.  You could select a range of files from your camera if you camera is attached.

Prior to importing the files, you can enter a description of what each file is.  To assist with this, selecting one of the files will shows its picture on the screen, or you can open the file if it is a Word Document or a PDF file etc.

There is also the option of automatically copying the files to another folder prior to attaching it to the tenant or property.  This is useful if you want to select multiple files on your camera, and have them copied to the local computer or a network server so the files can still be referenced after the camera has been disconnected.  This is a task you would probably already perform manually when attaching files one at a time using the old system.

Available now - Online rent payments

by RentMaster 17. December 2011 06:05

Online rent payments allows tenants to pay their rent using a credit card online.  More and more tenants are asking for this option as a fast and convenient way of paying their rent.  Which is also good for the property manager or landlord.

This is available now to all RentRecall.com web site subscribers.

The payment processing will all be handled by paypal.com.  At no point do you get to see the tenant's credit card details.  After the payment is made, an email will be sent to you with the details of the payment.  The tenant gets to see their current balance due, and can choose how much to pay, prior to the transaction taking place.

To enable this feature, which is disabled by default, you need to log into the managers login at rentrecall.com, and choose the Setup option in the top right corner.  You need to have already set up a paypal.com account to receive payments.  Enter you paypal.com account email address.  You can also optionally choose to charge the tenant a credit card fee, which can be a percentage of the amount paid, or a fixed amount, or both.  Paypal.com will charge you a fee for their service, so this enabled you to cover some or all of those costs.

by RentMaster 3. December 2011 07:23

A range of small changes are coming to the next release

- When importing bank statements, the rules screen is now fully sizable so the grid at the bottom of the rules screen can be made bigger.

- The Automatic Extra Fees and Automatic Extra Charges list screens both now include the descrption.

- On the Future Rent Changes report, any tenant who is closed is excluded automatically.

- When editing a transaction in the cashbook, the first control to have focus has been changes to the amount field.  This is to avoid people inadvertently opening the screen and then using the scroll wheel on their mouse and changing the property.  This does not affect new transactions.

Coming in v10.1 - Automatic extra fees on statements

by RentMaster 29. September 2011 11:40

Extra fees can be automatically generated as a result of creating an expense, whose expense group has a fee percentage or fee value set against it.

When these fees are printed on the owner transaction summary report, they include the expense group code and the property code as part of the description.  If the property code and/or expense group has a long code, and if tax is also printed on the statement, the amount of room on the report is sometimes not enough and the descriptions overlap each other.  From version 10.1 the description will now wrap onto the next line below if there is not enough space.
